Groups at St James' Gatley

The St James’ Gatley branch of the Mothers’ Union meets in the church hall on the first Thursday of the month at 2pm. New members are very welcome and you don’t have to be married, a mother, or even female, to join! (Canon Bob is one of our members).  We have some very interesting speakers and also arrange outings.
 
We support families at home and abroad by raising money for the two Chester Diocese projects: Away From It All Holidays, for those finding family life difficult, and Soup Kitchens in South Africa.
 
In 2012, our 2nd February and 1st March meetings will be in the church hall at 2.00pm, on 5th April we will attend the Maundy Thursday service in church at 7.30pm.  Our May and June meetings will also be in church at 7.30pm and we hope to welcome those who find it difficult to come to afternoon meetings, as well as all our usual members.  The speakers for these meetings are Peter Jennings on 3rd May to talk about his experiences as a Prison Chaplain at Styal and Margaret Tait on 7th June with an illustrated talk about Taize.

Gatley SJY is our youth group for young people aged around 11 to 18. Meetings are once a month on a Saturday evening in the Church Hall from 7pm till 9pm. The group offers fun and friendship and a chance to explore the Christian faith. Subs are £1 per meeting which includes refreshments.
